The Joinery Shop
The Joinery Shop Dubai is one of the most visited and best selling brands at littlemajlis.com and it comes as no surprise to us.
This Dubai small creative business encapulates what we look for here at Little Majlis – a great product, well designed and beautifully made, originality, extraordinary service that keeps their happy customers coming back for more.
As well as looking after her young family, Carrie manages The Joinery Shop and is hands-on through all facets of the business, from conceptualising product design to production and customer service. Their collection is thoughful, fun and current and if you’re on the hunt for a unique gift for a special occasion, this is where you’re more than likely to find it.
Meet The Joinery Shop Dubai
At The Joinery Shop we offer a range of personalized, handcrafted gifts and homeware that are made for your moment: from wooden keepsakes to giant height rulers, gorgeous wedding and anniversary gifts to little ‘thinking of you’ gestures; our products celebrate those special moments and become precious keepsakes to cherish.
Our ideas are inspired by our customers, as well as happy memories and events in our own lives and we love the challenge of producing products fit for any event or occasion. Most everything is done in house and our customers enjoy the personal experience they get with us and appreciate that by shopping small they’re helping to support a young family and grow a dream!

The talent behind the brand
The Joinery Shop kicked off in 2014 when husband and wife team Imran and Carrie were looking for interior inspiration for their first home together and decided it would be fun to get their craft on and create some pretty awesome pieces using wood: a versatile and naturally fabulous medium.
Since then they’ve grown as a family (with the addition of 2 very tiny apprentices-to-be) and responded to the changing wants and needs of customers.
Today The Joinery Shop specializes in creating personalised gifts and home items whilst remaining a very small, family run enterprise.
We make and sell an evolving collection of custom engraved and laser cut gift and homeware items. All our engraved and hand painted products are designed and crafted by us right here in Dubai and made using locally sourced materials where possible. Our most popular products change with each season but our giant height chart rulers; the perfect accessory for every expat families home and our anniversary gifts such as ‘Where Our Story Began’ coordinates board remain popular all year round.
Behind the scenes
The needs and wants of customers change and fashions evolve; when we first started out ‘shabby chic’ was growing in popularity and we were amongst the first business in Dubai to take old furniture and give it a makeover, as others started offering the same service we changed direction looking at new trends, keeping ideas current helps keep a micro business fresh.
We’ve also found that markets, once our main source of income, attract a different clientele and don’t offer us the same amount of exposure or sales so are focusing more on our online Little Majlis and social media presence, this is ideal really as with a baby and a toddler at home the logistics of attending markets don’t come easy!
Fabulous sign, loved it! Will be buying more xLittle Majlis member, leahlisgo21
Our product range now offers a great variety of interior and gift items for adults and kids so our plan now is to focus on being more visible and available to the good people of Dubai.
