Art Tile, Falcons on a Wakir (perch)
For 4,000 years, falconry has been one of the most honoured traditions in the Arabian Gulf. A practice that embodies the Arab values of courage, patience and nobility, and reflects a profound respect for the natural world. The falcon is the UAE's national bird, a symbol of strength and vision that appears on the country's coat of arms.
This hand-baked ceramic art tile captures two magnificent falcons resting on a wakir (a perch) rendered in Amna Al Saleh's bold, vivid and deeply Khaleeji style against a rich warm background. Each tile is an original signed work of art. Heat resistant, water resistant and versatile enough to display proudly on your wall or use as a coaster.
It arrives in our signature deep red Little Majlis gift box, so beautiful it practically wraps itself.
A little note from us: these tiles are crafted by a small-scale traditional artisan workshop in the Netherlands, because despite searching for over two years, we haven't yet found a local UAE manufacturer who can produce them. If you can help, we'd love to hear from you at hello@littlemajlis.com. Bringing this home is a dream we're still chasing.
Why this makes a perfect gift: A powerful, culturally significant gift for anyone who loves UAE heritage, falconry culture or original Emirati art. Perfect for corporate gifts, farewell gifts, Emirati National Day and anyone who has ever been captivated by the sight of a falcon in flight.
