You don't often think of plants being indigenous to the UAE, however many species thrive in what would otherwise typically be considered challenging conditions. For example, the Ghaf with its long tap root is the national tree of the UAE; it is a historic and cultural symbol of stability and peace in the UAE's desert environment. And the Tribulus Omanense is the UAE national flower.
