Cotton tea towel – Emirati neighborhood freej (Last chance!)
We found some old designs in the warehouse, and have decided to treat you with a special offer - these are the very last pieces of this design. They have been freshly packaged in a non-branded sleeve ready for gifting.
Freej. It is one of those Khaleeji words that carries a whole world inside it.
More than just a neighbourhood, a freej is the feeling of knowing your neighbours, of children running between houses, of a camel tethered by a gate and date palms casting shade over a courtyard. It is the UAE before the towers, before the highways, before the world arrived and stayed. And it is still here, if you know where to look (the historical Al Fahidi district is one of our favourite areas of Dubai!)
This design features a local couple, a camel, date palms and traditional Gulf architecture, silk screen printed by hand in teal and grey on crisp white 100% cotton. The print is heat sealed for a long print life, so it will look beautiful wash after wash. Practical enough for the kitchen, beautiful enough to hang on the wall, and meaningful enough to give as a gift.
Why this makes a perfect gift: One of our most loved home goods, and deservedly so. We use ours as a serving towel. Perfect for farewell gifts, housewarming gifts, Eid and Ramadan gifts, hostess gifts, an excellent secret Santa gift and anyone who wants a little piece of the UAE for their entertaining. Packs flat, posts beautifully, and never fails to make someone smile.
